you carved our initials into these family trees.
but when the branches are bare and broken, love is so hard to reach.
we've learned to brace for the worst and to read the last pages first,
surrender feels safe.

maybe the soul is the soil that holds the fallen seed,
or the light pouring down in between the rain clouds daring life to reach
or maybe it's the rings in the trunk of the tree,
a birthmark time will leave to measure the past.
but we can't dream when we're wide awake
or fall in love with a heart too strong to break.

faith is expensive to taste and time is borrowed loose change
that's already been spent.
maybe the soul is the tone of voice
that unearthed the words that we needed...

maybe the soul is a suitcase that holds the backup plan
a collection of keys and the patience we need to start again.
maybe it's the thresholds that swallow us whole
as we learn to let go, in spite of the dirt on our clothes

Movie Time!

Let's talk about movies.

Everybody knows I'm a Movie Junky. I am more on fairy tales, action movies type. I don't like bloody or brutal scenes, violence and the scariest one, HORROR. But I'm already get into horror now, like they said, FIGHT YOUR FEAR haha. In every language and in every country as long as there is subtitle if it's not english, then bring it on! and if I said it is nice, it is indeed nice (love your own of course hehe). But if i don't like it, you will see me it's either not paying attention, sleeping and most of all LEAVING because if i do, you can't talk to me haha, all eyes and ears on the screen. But when im heart-broken, believe me i collected Love stories (looking for something that i can relate to haha). So these are mine:

Let's start with asian movies since i am asian. But these are only movies i remember that i really do like. Randomly.

SHINOBI (Heart Under Blade) or Kouga Ninpouchou Basilisk (2005) - JAPANESE Movie adaptation of Futaro Yamada's novel The Kouga Ninja Scrolls, which depicts the clash between two ninja clans.

On February 6, 2007, Funimation Entertainment released the film in the United States.

HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS (2004) - A  chinese martial arts action-drama movie with a tragic romance.

The film opened in limited release within the United States on December 3, 2004, in New York City ang Los Angeles and opened on additional screens throughout the country two weeks later.

It was debuted in May at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival to enthusiastic receptions. The film reportedly received a 20-minute standing ovation at its Cannes Fil Festival premiere.
Because this was famous way back then, my graphic designer friend draw Zhang Ziyi using pen and paper then scanned and  finished or colored using tablet in Adobe Photoshop. He included it in his Artwork Book and went Sold Out. It's so nice. Looks like 3D :) . But now he's using directly to screen using tablet pen, so no more sketch on paper. Cool!.

NAKED WEAPON 赤裸特工 (2002)
- A Hong Kong action-thriller film assassination of a man unknown identity. It revolves around three female sexy assassins who get close to their targets, primarily through seduction, before they kill them.

This is such a PG 18 movie :D

SO CLOSE (2002) - Hong Kong action film. It's all about two sister assassins , computer hackers and espionage specialists who use their late father's secret satellite technology to give them the advantage over their rivals and law enforcement.

THE CLASSIC (2003) - South Korean melodrama / romance film. This is such a heartbreaking movie. It tells the parallel love stories of a mother and daughter. The story of the mother is told partially in flashbacks. At first, it was a bit dragging and presented in a non-linear pattern. But the second half is really wicked.

It was nominated at the Hong Kong Film Awards in the category Best Asian Film in 2004.

When it comes to romance and drama you can always count Korean coz they got always the most of the best stories ever. They started the pattern of AMNESIA kind of stories :)
South Korean film based on a 2001 Japanese television drama Pure Soul. It follows the theme of discovery in a relationship and the burdens of loss caused by Alzheimer's disease. The movie was officially released on November 2004 in South Korea. The film was a major success in South Korea becoming the 5th highest grossing film of 2004. It was also major success in Japan opening at topping the box office and grossing $20,462.454.

This is very nice movie, I SWEAR! Must Watch!
MY SASSY GIRL (2001)엽기적인 그녀 literally That Bizarre Girl - South Korean romantic comedy film. It tells the story of a man's chance meeting with a drunk girl on the train which changes his life. It is ostensibly based on a TRUE STORY posted on the internet in a series of blog posts written by Kim Ho-sik which were later adopted into a novel.

The film was extremely successful in South Korea and was the higest grossing Korean comedy of all time.  When this was released throughout East Asia, it became a mega blockbuster hit in the entire region from Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong as well as Southeast Asia, to the point where it was drawing comparisons to Titanic.

It was remake in America last 2008 starring Jesse Bradford and Elisha Cuthbert. A Japaenese drama adaptation leads started broadcast in April 2008.

WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (2006) - American psychological horror film and a remake of the 1979 horror film of the same name based on the urban legend "The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs" In the film, a teenage babysitter receives increasingly threatening calls from a brutal serial killer whom she first assumes is a simply a prankster.

HACHIKO (2009) or Hachi: A Dog's Tale (English-language title) - American drama film based on the JAPAN'S TRUE STORY of a faithful Akita, the titular Hachiko. It is a remake of the 1987 movie Hachiko Monogatari ハチ公物語  (literally "The tale of Hachiko"). The film is about loyalty and the rare, invincible bonds that occasionally form almost instantaneously in the most unlikely places.

Total foreign box office was $46.7 million as of June 2010.

The Real Hachiko (1987)
His Statue in Japan on the
said Train Station

Prepare tissues if you gonna watch this! Very touching and so heart-breaking.

STARDUST (2007) - A British Fantasy film from Paramount Pictures. It is based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name. It lives up to expectations and delivers so much more. It  is essentially unique. It's about the story of a STAR as in FALLING STAR. It succeeds as both fantasy and romantic comedy.

In 2008, it won the Hugo Award for the Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form.
THE SECRET OF MOONACRE (2009) - a British film adaptation of the novel The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge. The film, which started filming on 1 October 2007, was released in the UK February 2009 by Warner Bros.

The movie was mainly filmed in Hungary, but a few scenes were filmed in London, England.

It's about the story of a girl's father is killed and his debts have caused the loss of all he owns- he leaves her nothing but an old book, "The Ancient Chronicles of Moonacre Valley". The book details the life of the Moon Princess, a woman so beautiful and pure the moon itself blessed her with a power set of magical pearls and the journey begins.

WICKER PARK (2004) - American psychological drama / romantic mystery film. The film is a remake of the 1996 French movie L'APPARTEMENT. It was nominated for the Grand Prix at the Montreal Film Festival, the city in which the movie was partially filmed.

The title refers to the Wicker Park neighborhood on Chicago's near northwest side.

It's about a young Chicago advertising executive believes a woman he sees in a cafe is his long-lost love. His conviction leads to obsession, as he puts his life on hold to trail her. I love this movie!

PUSH (2009) -American Science fiction thriller film. The film centers on a group of people born with various superhuman abilities who band together in order to take down a government agency that is using a dangerous drug to enhance their powers in hopes of creating an army of super soldiers.

This was filmed in Hong Kong.

I just loved this movie coz the actor Chris Evans is so freakin' handsome haha..
SUCKER PUNCH (2011) - An action fantasy film directed by Zack Synder (from the director of Watchmen). It is Synder's first film based on an original script. He describes it as Alice in Wonderland with machine guns. The storyline follows the fantasies of a young woman who is committed to a mental institution, as she makes a plan to escape the hospital before suffering a lobotomy.

The film was released in both conventional and IMAX theatres int he United States at midnight on March 25, 2011.

It's more likely like a video game.
THE UNINVITED (2009) - American remake of the 2003 South Korean horror film A TALE OF TWO SISTERS. It is unrelated to another 2003 Korean horror film and a 1944 American film, both of which have the same name.

It's a story of Anna that has been in a psychiatric institution for ten months, following her suicide attempt after her terminally-ill mother dies in a boathouse fire. She has been discharged and has no memory of the actual fire although she is frequently plagues by nightmares from the night.

I saw the TALE OF TWO SISTERS but I never finished it coz i can't understand the flow of the story hehe. But this remake is nice :)

BURLESQUE (2010) - Since I love music and I love Christina that's why i love this musical film of her. This film was the debut of  Xtina as an actress. Cher and Xtina contributed to the sountrack album, with Aguilera contributing eight out of ten songs with Cher taking the remianing two.

This film has grossed close to 90 MILLION DOLLARS WORLDWIDE. Wow!

It's a cute film actually.

ORPHAN (2009) - a Psychological thriller and horror film. It centers on a couple who, after the death of their unborn child, adopt a mysterious nine-year old girl.

This is such a surprising film haha. I didn't expected the flows.

And .......STOP! I don't remember anymore some of the titles :(. But if i can, I'll add it here :)

And then the rest are the famous ones like HARRY POTTER SERIES, TWILIGHT SAGA, TRANSFORMERS, TAKEN, INCEPTION, G.I JOE and etc. SNOW WHITE BLAH BLAH etc. Like the latest i posted THE PACT and for the up coming nice films.

Hope you like them all if you gonna try to watch it :)

5 Ways to Stay Motivated When Sick

Once you are diagnosed with a minor or major health condition, it may be difficult to stay motivated and positive. It is not only important to maintain a healing attitude for your own sanity, but also for your health. Stress, anxiety and negative emotions can worsen your condition, which can make you feel even more discouraged or weakened. While it is normal to feel emotionally distraught after a diagnosis with a condition that may impair your health, there are a few ways you can address your feelings and keep up the strength to get you through this difficult time.

Remember that you are not your illness: Many people tend to identify with their illness, and either subconsciously or consciously believe that their illness defines them as a person. This identification with the illness often causes more suffering and pain than the actual illness itself.

Eat for your health: Of all the recommended strategies for fighting disease and promoting overall health and well being, few are as critical and profound as healthy eating. Eating a variety of nourishing, whole foods provides the ability to rejuvenate and rebuild, while keeping you healthy and energized. Certain diet plans can also be tailored to a specific health condition – for example, foods such as cruciferous vegetables support heavy metal detoxification  and decrease inflammation.

Meditate: The health benefits of meditation have been successfully tested in the scientific community with excellent results. More and more peer-reviewed research on meditation confirms that it is a viable method of improving health and emotional well being, helping with issues ranging from cardiovascular disease, inflammation and immune activity to pain, anxiety and depression. Meditation is a beneficial relaxation technique, as it is well known in the medical world that reduction of stress improves the condition of many disease states and helps to greatly reduce health risks related to physical, mental and emotional overload.

Clear the clutter: When battling any type of illness, people often seek a more serene environment that is clean and calming to improve their mood and decrease stress. Clearing clutter from your everyday environment – whether it is your office, home environment, or your car – can help you create a more peaceful and comfortable space in which to invite healing energy.

Reach out: While you may feel inclined to isolate yourself when you are ill, sometimes company is the best therapy! Taking time to connect with friends and family through e-mails, visits or phone calls will help you feel supported and loved, improve your mood and immunity, and help to process your diagnosis in a safe environment. In addition, many programs provide support groups that bring people in similar circumstances together in order to help one another work through personal experiences in a positive way.

A key to recovery from illness or serious health conditions involves increasing your emotional well being and improving your surroundings. Creating a safe, happy and healthy environment in which to heal will allow you to maintain your psychological health while improving your physical vitality.

the "JUNE"

Monday, May 21, 2012

went walking through town just the other day
with nothing much to do
as the sun came breaking down through the clouds
i never seen a sky so blue
i saw a "Cajun" man with a red guitar
singing on the side of the street
i threw a handful of change in his beat up case
and said play me a country beat and it sounded like "yeah"
then after met up with some friends outside of town
we were headed towards the lake
i hopped into the back of a jacked up jeep
felt the wind upon my face
we got to the spot and the sun was hot
everybody was feeling fine
so we jumped on in for a midday swim
then we lost all track of time
as the moon came out and the fire burned
everybody was singing and dancing along
to some "Rambling Man a little Curtis Loew"
and all those feel good songs
we danced all night without a care
no place we'd rather be
coz these are the days we'll talk about
when we live so WILD and FREE

It don't get much better than this
it was a perfect day
what i'd give if i could find a way to stay
lost in this moment now
ain't worried about tomorrow when your busy living in a
