A Prayer for the Victims of Typhoon Sendong in Mindanao

This Blog is From musesonair.com

Watching the news on Typhoon Sendong was like remembering Typhoon Ondoy. We were able to get through Typhoon Ondoy as a nation, let us do that again now and face the damages of Typhoon Sendong as a country.

Christmas is a season for giving. Let’s give a special meaning to this year’s celebration by helping the victims of Typhoon Sendong in Mindanao.

My Facebook news feed is filled with updates on death tolls, news and organizations I can contact to help; yours probably looks the same as mine. Pick the organization you trust and send out your donations. You can even send donations through Smart and Globe.

To give your donations for the victims of Typhoon Sendong through Red Cross, you can visit their website or text

Amidst the chaos, let us not forget to pray.

We Humble Ourselves in Prayer…

Oh,God our Father:

In faith, we acknowledge your paternal care over us, your sons, daughters and children. In hope, we trust in your divine providence of giving us wisdom and courage as we face the challenges in life. In love, we invoke your help and guidance during these difficult days of death and destruction in our dear country.

Ours is a prayer of thanksgiving for once again reminding us that ours is an imperfect world, that heaven is not on earth and that nature every now and then tells us not to abuse her. Ours too is a prayer of repentance for calling upon you when we are in need and desperation but forgetting you in favorable times and pleasing occasions.

Ours as well is a prayer of petition as we say:

Grant eternal peace to those who lost their lives. Embrace the children who died in their innocence. Help those who are hurt and cure those who are sick.

Encourage those who suffer the destruction of their homes and properties, and to once again stand up and rebuild their future.

Bless all those who extend their helping hands to those in need of food, shelter and clothing, who share their time, talents and resources with others.

Inspire more people to be men and women for their neighbors, convinced that the more they are for others, the taller they stand before you.

Spare us please from other natural disasters and devastation if this be according to Your will and for our own spiritual good and growth.

Let us all be safe and help each other in this time of need.

Cagayan De Oro, Philippines devastated by deadly typhoon Sendong

First time in history in Philippines of having typhoon in Mindanao. I was so shocked when i turned on the TV and i saw in CNN about the huge flood in Cagayan De Oro, it's 6 hours land trip from my city. We used to go there with my family to visit my grandmas sister and my relatives and we go together also in Camiguin where my grandma live. Camiguin is an island and 12 hours trip from my city.

I was frightened about what I saw thousands are dead. Last time also hundreds of people died of flood in my City Davao in downtown area, just thank God my village is bit far from those affected areas. That was 1st and I hope last.

I directly called my mom and she said they were fine, they went to the 3rd floor of their house coz flood is whole 1st floor. Whole Cagayan has No Light, No water and everything. God~! .... Mom keep on calling them and she will take all my relatives there and stay home for a while. Its better coz my mom is alone in our house. This is unbelievable but long time ago before mom of my grandma died says that they need to pray harder coz one day cagayan will be in danger. So my grandma keep it in her mind and now after hundred of yrs it came. huhu..

Sad to say one of my relatives, whole of their family which has 4 kids are now missing :(.

I dont know anymore what to say. Im sad. I just pray to God to keep my family safe.

A mass burial has been organised in the Philippines for scores of people killed by flash floods on the southern island of Mindanao.

Health officials in the city of Iligan say unclaimed bodies are being buried after being marked for possible future identification.

Coastal communities were devastated early on Saturday in flash floods triggered by a tropical storm.

More than 650 people were killed and another 800 people are still missing.

Damaged roads are hampering efforts to reach survivors in remote villages.

Officials in Iligan said they were preparing to bury unclaimed bodies in a mass grave as early as Monday because of their advanced state of decomposition.

Floods triggered by Tropical Storm Sendong (international name: Washi) killed more than 200, left hundreds missing, and displaced thousands of residents here Saturday.

Areas submerged by floods include Barangays Puntod, Macabalan, Lapasan, villages within the downtown area, and Vamenta Subdivision in Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

“I wasn’t able to hold them tightly because of the strong current. I stayed underneath the water for five minutes trying to look for them,” Medrano said.

"The flooding occurred around 2:30 a.m while the people were sleeping. It (massive rains) caused the silted river system to overflow," Ramos said.

Let's pray coz only God is our hope.

who would have thought that Amanda Falk music are christian songs.... really made me relax and have my moments of realizing everything happened in my life. =( ,..hahay LIFE~!!

Another day, paints on the face
That they expect to see
It's not all I want, but it's all I've got
To make this world believe
Nothing's wrong with me

I'm an artist of emotion
A master of deceit
And the many faces I portray
Are nothing at all like me
How I long to be free

From this never ending maze
Oh my head's in a daze
Every time I think
From this overplayed charade
Oh my heart's gonna fade
And I can't go on

It's a tug of war, each moment
To hide this pain inside
Or to open up and spill this cup
Of feelings that I hide
But what will people do
And what will people say
When they hear the truth will they turn and run away
Will they throw a stone or lend a shoulder to lean on

It's not fair, I can't take this anymore
All these tears have drifted me to shore
Is there hope for someone just like me
And I hear a voice inside me say
I can set you free

From this never ending maze
I will be your strength
If you let me lead
So just, take my hand and see
If you follow me
You can be free
